MatchBox Consulting is on the hunt for a Construction Officer. This candidate will act as a construction site coordinator and inspector on multiple or large civil, electrical, and/or mechanical projects, ensuring work quality, materials, schedule, safety, and costs meet project standards.

Contract: 1 year

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect construction work on substations, transmission lines, and hydroelectric equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and deadlines.

• Coordinate site testing, surveying, and estimating activities using engineering drawings.

• Enforce worksite safety, including performing Safe Work Observations.

• Support contract and work order administration with contractors and internal teams.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on technical issues and respond to internal and third-party inquiries.

• Work in various conditions including adverse weather, heights, or underground environments.

Experience & Education:

• Minimum 7 years construction experience or equivalent.

• Diploma in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology, relevant trades certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent.

• Training in contract law is an asset.

• Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Standards.

• Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).

Must Haves:

• Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint proficiency

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with own vehicle

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Advanced professional English skills

Nice to Haves:

• First Aid training

• Contract management experience
