Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Civil Technologist on behalf of our client- a civil engineering firm based in BC that offers consulting services to public and private sectors throughout Western Canada. They have a corporate culture that promotes innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship, and environmental stewardship. Our client offers small town customer service with sophisticated engineering practice.

This individual will play a crucial role in civil engineering projects, primarily focused on researching, analyzing, and interpreting infrastructure records, preparing design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and assisting in design calculations under the supervision of a Professional Engineer. They also engage in project management, communicate with various stakeholders, coordinate with utility providers, and collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to ensure successful project execution. Additionally, they conduct construction field reviews, environmental monitoring, and equipment maintenance to ensure project quality and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Research, obtain, analyze, and interpret existing infrastructure record information.

• Prepare existing infrastructure base plan drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Prepare civil engineering design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Prepare civil engineering design, analysis, and calculation under supervision of a Professional Engineer.

• Research specifications and standards.

•  Assist with project management tasks.

• Communicate, coordinate, and liaise with clients, owners, municipalities, contractors, and other stakeholders.

• Communicate and coordinate with third-party utilities 

• Coordinate with other project team professionals, such as architects, electrical engineers, geotechnical

• engineers, traffic engineers, and environmental consultants.

• Conduct construction field reviews for implementation of design and for specification conformance.

• Prepare detailed field review reports.

• Conduct field investigations and reconnaissance.

• Conduct environmental monitoring for erosion and sediment control.

• Maintain and calibrate all required equipment.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of industry experience, with a focus on local land development and municipal engineering.

• Civil Engineering Technologist experience

• Proficient with Civil 3D and drafting engineering drawings.

• Experience in sewer, watermain, roads, grading design, and stormwater management.

• Experience with interpretation and implementation of design requirements and specifications.

• Knowledge of civil construction and project execution.

• Experience carrying out field reviews for quality and adherence to design specifications.

• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

• Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines effectively.

• Possession of a valid BC Driver's License.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
