Matchbox Consulting Group is looking for a Construction Finance Project Manager with experience areas such as construction, engineering or architecture on behalf of our client- a global consultancy business serving in the real estate, infrastructure and natural resource sectors. With over 75 years of experience, our client has been known to create transformational projects involving power plants, transportation, healthcare, hospitality, and residential, all while making a difference in people’s lives. Responsibilities

• Preparing Construction Cost Estimate reports at all stages of design for education, healthcare, residential corporate occupier and commercial projects within Alberta.
• Managing estimating and cost planning activities including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan/estimate
• Applying Value Management techniques at the outset of a project and where appropriate
• Post-contract cost management including change order analysis, monthly cost reporting and payment certification
• Ensuring that cost analysis, cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively
• Participating in Value engineering, LEED analysis and Life Cycle costing
• Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
• Leading a cost management team, ensuring that it delivers on all of the above accountabilities
  Research related to construction market conditions throughout Canada, including analysis of official published data

• Managing commissions and participating on basic project and financial management responsibilities such as free tracking, invoice preparation etc.

Requirements 

• 5+ years of directly applicable Loan Monitoring experience with an engineering or cost consultant 
  • 7+ years of relatable and transferable experience as with a GC or developer builder.
• Relevant post secondary education in construction management, engineering, architecture, etc.
• Ability to oversee and execute monthly financial progress reports, cash flows, schedule review,
• Comfortable on site and reading drawings
• VERY VERY strong communication – will be client facing with high level executives.
