About the Opportunity:
A leading civil construction contractor with a strong presence in Western Canada is seeking a Civil Estimator to join their dynamic team in Langley, BC. Specializing in large-scale infrastructure, earthworks, and municipal projects, this company is known for delivering high-quality work and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of civil construction projects, including site grading, underground utilities, and roadworks

• Interpret project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to develop detailed quantity take-offs

• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure cost-effective project execution

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure alignment between pre-construction and project delivery

• Participate in tender reviews and provide insight on cost-saving strategies or potential project risks

• Maintain and update estimating databases and tools with accurate cost data

• Support the development of bid proposals, including project schedules, cash flow projections, and value engineering alternatives

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in civil construction estimating, ideally within the Western Canadian market

• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and market rates

• Proficiency with estimating software (such as HCSS, HeavyBid, or similar) and Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a team-first mindset
