On behalf of our client, MatchBox Consulting Group is actively seeking a Senior/Intermediate Estimator for a very high profile General Contractor. They have a wide variety of projects all over BC. This is a great opportunity to work on exciting projects and advance your career in the industry!

Responsibilities

• Understand and collaborate to establish unit costs, labor rates, productivity factors and location impacts with the estimating team
• Prepare quantity take-offs and estimates, including preparation of estimates for conceptual designs
• Review and compare estimates of construction costs through all estimating phases to prior estimates for variances and changes. Adjust future estimates to reflect actual costs through design processes
• Conduct materials and pricing research
• Assist in maintaining preferred vendor, supplier, trade and estimating databases

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in construction estimating
• Gold Seal Intern in Estimating, an asset
• Bachelor of Engineering, Certificate in Engineering Technologies, or equivalent, an asset Qualification Requirements
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
• Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, cost control, quality and administration
• Sound knowledge of construction and building techniques and ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
• Proactive problem-solver that can manage difficult situations with positive results
• Good knowledge of MS Office suite, specifically Excel, Outlook and Project
• Experience with Timberline, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Plansource, and Plan Grid, an asset
