MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for a Foreperson in Kelowna. Our client is a prominent general contractor headquartered in British Columbia, specializing in industrial, commercial, and residential construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and Coordinate Construction Operations: Oversee all site personnel, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to project schedules; assist with scheduling subcontractors and coordinating equipment and manpower.
• Budget and Cost Management: Maintain accurate cost records, verify site costs against the budget, and collaborate with the Superintendent on budget, schedule, and design aspects.
• Project Scheduling and Documentation: Assist in the development and revision of the overall project schedule, maintain a two-week work schedule, and ensure proper construction sequencing with trade contractors.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain positive relationships with Project Managers, trade contractors, architects, consultants, and clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience and Education: 5-10 years of experience in concrete forming, wood frame, and multifamily construction; certification or degree in a construction-related discipline, with formal construction management or engineering education being an asset.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of building techniques, codes, safety regulations, OH&S standards, and the ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and architectural schematics.
• Leadership and Communication: Proven interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with teams and upper management.
• Organizational and Decision-Making Skills: Excellent organizational and management abilities, demonstrating effectiveness in decision-making, time efficiency, and meeting deadlines.
• Safety and Additional Skills: Commitment to safety, with First Aid skills/certificates considered assets; highly effective in negotiation, diplomacy, and conflict resolution.
