MatchBox Consulting Group are currently seeking a Forestry Project Manager on behalf of our client- one of BC's largest electrical and utility providers for a 6 month contract with potential of renewal. 

Location: Abbottsford | Hybrid (3 days on site)

Job Overview: 
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Professional Forester to join our team for a variety of Capital Projects. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment and be responsible for providing Professional Forestry services, including vegetation management, timber harvesting, and access planning.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Professional Forestry requirements for vegetation management projects.
• Analyze technical studies and data to provide forestry opinions, advice, and support.
• Develop cost estimates for forestry and vegetation management activities.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for forestry and vegetation management.
• Assist in developing contract scopes and specifications for forestry contracts.
• Implement and oversee forestry engineering and layout contracts.
• Ensure contract deliverables meet specifications through quality assurance checks.
• Supervise contracts for vegetation clearing and maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and various levels of government.
• Assist with acquiring agreements, approvals, and permits as needed.
• Support Indigenous Relations Team with consultation as required.

Qualifications:

• Registered Professional Forester (RPF) in good standing with the Association of BC Forest Professionals.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in utility vegetation management or industrial forestry.
• Strong knowledge of legislation and regulations governing forest practices and environmental resources in BC.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
• Ability to manage change and deliver quality work in a multidisciplinary environment.
