MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a General Foreman on behalf of our client, a well-respected construction management firm with a long history of delivering ICI projects.

You will be an experienced, early career construction profile with at least 3+ years of experience in the construction industry with a general contractor or developer-builder. Ideally, you have experience on commercial, institutional, or light industrial projects.

As a General Foreman, you will be

• Supervising and coordinating the work of the site crew and subtrades
• Ensuring that the required quality standards for the project are attained
• Working towards on-schedule completion of the project
• Ensuring your crew and working conditions are safe
• Ensuring and maximizing your crew capabilities
• Coaching your crew on best construction practices and technologies available

Your Key Responsibilities will include

• Efficient, coordinated and professional construction crew supervision
• Coordination of the construction jobsite operations
• Monitoring work progress and initiating any corrective actions required
• Motivating subtrades, to complete the work safely, on-time and to an acceptable standard of quality
• Reporting to Site Superintendents on site progresses, possible delays and other issues
• Troubleshooting common issues that may arise on site
• Maintaining good working relationship with the Team, subtrades and regulatory authorities

Your Experience and Qualifications include

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Foreman with a general contractor (required)

• Proven experience on small to medium-sized commercial, institutional, and light industrial projects

• Strong knowledge of BC construction methods, codes, and documents

• Ability to read and interpret scopes of work, drawings, schedules, and contract documents

• Skilled in safety practices, team leadership, and project execution
