Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer on behalf of our client- an Engineering Consulting firm known for being a leader in developing innovative and environmentally beneficial applied science solutions that address challenges in the natural and built environment.

This individual will lead project teams, supervise junior staff, and manage infrastructure projects for various clients. They will prepare project proposals, technical reports, and feasibility studies, while also overseeing design, construction bid documents, and quality control during inspections. Their expertise will be applied to a wide range of water-related projects for diverse clients, including municipalities, government departments, First Nations, and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities: 

• Work in and lead project teams

• Supervise junior staff delivering infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients

• Prepare proposals for competitive and non-competitive project opportunities

• Write technical reports for master planning and infrastructure assessments

• Complete feasibility studies

• Manage and deliver innovative preliminary and detailed designs including the preparation of detailed design calculations and specifications

• Work with CAD team members on design drawing development

• Prepare construction bid documents

• Provide tendering services

• Administer construction contracts

• Supervise construction inspections including quality control and assurance

• Project Management and project coordination with respect to a variety of water-related projects with a variety of clients like municipalities, government departments, First Nations, and industrial clients.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 6 years of experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering

• A licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Canada 

• Previous municipal water infrastructure design experience is an asset

• Previous project management and project coordination experience is an asset

• You have experience in consulting engineering and/or an interest in developing a consulting engineering career in municipal design utilizing various project delivery methods

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Able to work with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment

• A valid driver’s license (in good standing) is mandatory

• Ability to conduct site visits
