MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Data Analyst for our rapidly growing client, a Startup supporting the Canadian Utility industry. This is a dynamic position with lots of opportunities for growth. Reporting to the Senior Data Analyst, you will take responsibility for managing the master data set, developing reports, and troubleshooting data issues. To do well in this role you need a very fine eye for detail, experience as a data analyst, and a deep understanding of the popular data analysis tools and databases. This is an onsite position working at the office in Newmarket – ON. 

Responsibilities:
•    Managing and analyzing data generated by the proprietary mobile app
•    Developing reports and analysis
•    Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analysts if necessary
•    Commissioning and decommissioning of data sets
•    Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata
•    Developing reports and analysis
•    Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports
•    Training end-users on new reports and dashboards
•    Providing technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing
•    Implementing processes to automate “data cleansing” and any other data requirements 

Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in computer science/Math
•    Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field
•    Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations
•    High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing databases
•    Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
•    Understanding of addressing and metadata standards
•    High-level written and verbal communication skills
•    Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel and VBA (xlookup, textjoin, countifs) 
•    High-level understanding/experience with SharePoint, SQL, R, Python, or any other mathematical computational software
