On behalf of our valued client in Calgary, a developer-builder, MatchBox Consulting Group is searching for a junior construction Project Manager

Our client in Calgary is looking for a smart entrepreneurial and innovative leader to lead the multifamily development team! We are looking for someone who can take their organization to the next level as a nationally recognized high performance shop while still retaining our creativity and flexibility. The ideal candidate has experience with a startup and has experienced the chaos of rapid growth.

  • Project Management of several multi-family projects, including:
    • Project planning
    • Project staffing
    • Implementation/Execution of project
    • Evaluation of the project
  • Coordination of Site works with Engineers and Subcontractors
  • Coordination between multiple departments (i.e. design, finance, construction, safety, land development, etc.)
  • Preparation of proformas for Multi-Family Projects
  • Understanding of site improvements as it pertains to pre-building construction
  • Understanding of the construction process on residential or commercial buildings
  • Demonstrate an ability to both understand and draft a project budget
  • Reviewing engineering drawings.
  • Reviewing contracts for all subcontractors related to all areas of site servicing
  • Coordination of construction starts with Rohit Communities
  • Tracking of FAC and CCC’s
  • Tracking and updating cash flows
  • Reviewing invoices before processing.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of construction project management experience, preferably with multi-family projects.
  • A degree from an accredited University.
  • Strong Analytical Skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, resources and multiple projects. 
  • Flexible and adaptable to rapid change.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • A basic understanding of accounting and budgeting principles is required.
  • Must be professional, organized, and efficient.
  • Strong conflict resolution, oral, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Displays a high level of professionalism and ethical behavior.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in composing and proofing written materials.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organizational, multi-tasking and priority management skills.
  • Think clearly and analyze problems of organization and management and take effective action.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential assignments with tact and diplomacy.
  • Work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Able to work independently using initiative and good judgment to assess priorities.
  • Must be able to travel locally for meetings.
  • Willingness to work evenings to attend board meetings and appointments.
