MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Plant Manager for our client – a leader in the construction sector.
This Plant Manager will lead, manage, direct, and coordinate the overall production operations. They will utilize their technical and interpersonal skills to ensure successful operations and continued collaboration with first nations partners and the greater community.
The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to the location of the plant as, while the role is mainly based out of an office, they will be required to visit the site as required and be available after hours and on weekends for emergencies. Relocation assistance is provided.

Responsibilities
· Lead the management team and employees in production, repair and maintenance, quality control, and administrative functions.
· Implement and improve the site's safety program to align with or exceed company standards.
· Foster teamwork, build strong employee relationships, and support continuous professional growth and training for employees. Promote positive labor relations and collaboration across all organizational levels.
· Develop and execute strategies and plans to optimize resource use, enhance plant productivity, and reduce costs.
· Monitor key performance indicators and implement standard operating procedures with a focus on continuous improvement.
· Create operating budgets and oversee their effective implementation.
· Identify and manage capital improvement projects, ensuring their successful authorization and completion.
· Ensure compliance with environmental and mining regulations, policies, and procedures.
· Cultivate a positive and cooperative working environment.
· Build and maintain community relationships to enhance the organization's reputation.
Requirements
• University degree, preferably in Engineering (Mining, Mechanical, Civil), Geology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and motivate employees at all levels of the organization
• Must have solid leadership experience as it relates to leading other managers and working within a matrix organization
• Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience
• Preferred candidates will have experience in medium to large scale mining, building materials or similar operations
• Knowledge of aggregates is an asset
• Substantial/proven leadership experience
• Demonstrated track record of achieving results in a complex production environment
• Knowledge of collective agreements and experience working in a unionized environment
• Experience in first nation relations is an asset
• Proven negotiation skills
• High level knowledge of business/financial management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new computer software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
