ROLE: President of Land Development

We are seeking a visionary leader with vast experience in land development, including complex undertakings and oversight of remote off-grid projects. The role involves spearheading multi-phase land and property development ventures across North America, providing direction, and working closely with the top-tier leadership. The successful candidate will manage all facets of projects, from initial conception to final execution.

The immediate focus will be on two main projects: a ranch retreat in the southwest USA and a substantial private island project in Canada. The person will collaborate closely with the leadership to bring these transformative visions to life. Proficiency in land development in remote areas, familiarity with off-grid systems, and navigating logistical challenges are imperative for this role. Future projects will involve similar endeavors in Canada, the US, and the Caribbean.

  • Ability to translate vision into execution.
  • Strategic foresight in complex scenarios.
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee development projects from inception to completion.
  • Set short and long-term objectives for all projects.
  • Engage and onboard key personnel such as architects.
  • Regularly update stakeholders with progress metrics and visuals.
  • Financial and risk management.
  • Compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and building codes.
  • Drive eco-friendly initiatives and green power systems.
  • On-site visitations for monitoring progress and quality.
  • Explore new real estate development opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field; +15 years in construction management with a track record of progressive growth.
  • Project Management: +10 years of full lifecycle development management, with experience in remote and complex land development, especially working directly with planners and architects.
  • Leadership: +10 years leading small to mid-size construction teams, with +5 years reporting directly to high-profile principals or UHNWI/HNWI in an owner’s rep or similar capacity.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Canadian building codes, planning and implementation of off-grid telecommunication systems, green power systems, and familiarity with Microsoft O365, G Suite, MAC, etc.
  • Adaptability & Travel: Strong emotional intelligence, ability to adapt in dynamic environments, and willingness to travel as needed for various projects.

 

COMPENSATION

The compensation package is competitive, including base pay, bonuses, profit shares, and potential ownership options upon exit events. Comprehensive medical benefits are provided. This role also promises avenues for growth within this company or its other portfolio companies. Unique bonus structures and other incentives are also on the table.
