MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project manager for capital projects for one of BC’s largest utility companies.

Contract length: 1 year
Location: Edmonds – Burnaby (Hybrid)

Top 5 Requirements

• PMP Certification (Required)
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent (Diploma with extensive experience also accepted)
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in an electric utility or similar environment
• Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, negotiation, facilitation, and presentation
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to travel within BC

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple low to medium-risk infrastructure projects (up to $20M), from initiation to close-out
• Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management strategies
• Oversee financials: forecasting, monitoring, approvals, and closeout
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and manage internal/external stakeholders, including Indigenous groups, regulators, and customers
• Ensure compliance with Project & Program Management practices, quality assurance, and safety standards

Nice-to-Haves

• Professional registration (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo. in BC)
• Field experience in plant operations or construction management
• Experience managing telecom/protection & control projects or customer-driven initiatives with tight timelines
• Full project life-cycle experience, especially during Identification and alternative evaluations
