MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior BIM Technician to join our client in Burnaby, BC.  

Our client delivers structural engineering and consulting services for diverse sectors spanning North America and internationally, encompassing commercial, residential, institutional, and educational projects. Renowned for their integrity, experience, and innovative design solutions, they have earned recognition as one of Canada's most reputable structural engineering firms.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Create structural design drawings and 3D models in accordance with project specifications and WHM standards.
• Ensure the accuracy and quality of team-produced models and drawings.
• Mentor junior technicians, aiding in their skill and knowledge development.
• Stay abreast of the latest BIM software and technologies, assisting the team in adopting new tools and workflows.
• Maintain compliance of BIM models and drawings with industry standards and best practices.
• Document BIM processes, standards, and project-specific details accurately.
• Identify and resolve technical issues related to BIM modeling and coordination.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to meet project requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency in Revit Structure and AutoCAD (2020)
• Experience creating intricate 3D models, developing parametric families, and utilizing advanced BIM features for analysis and coordination.
• Comprehensive understanding of building construction, structural materials, and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and projects.
• Capacity to make informed decisions and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior technicians and collaborate with team members.
• Strong teamwork and communication aptitudes for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in BIM technology and practices.

Required Training & Experience:

• Certification as a Drafting Technician or equivalent (in Canada)
• Minimum of 7 years of Canadian experience in a structural drafting role
