MatchBox Consulting Group is on the hunt for a Senior Cost Engineer in Burnaby, BC. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading organization in the power sector and contribute to the development of major transmission and substation infrastructure projects. As a Senior Engineer in Transmission Estimating, you'll play a key role in creating cost estimates for projects that support sustainable energy solutions. You'll collaborate with various teams, work on innovative electrification projects, and help shape a cleaner future while advancing your career in the power sector.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for transmission and substation projects across all phases, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide input on construction methods, schedules, and risks.
• Review and validate estimates from internal and external sources to ensure compliance with standards.
• Support procurement and regulatory processes by providing cost data and contributing to project documentation.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical, civil, or structural engineering, preferably with a focus on electrical (power) engineering.
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
• 8+ years of experience in estimating, design, or construction, with 4+ years in transmission/substation cost estimating.
• Proficient with estimating tools (Primavera P6, @Risk) and MS Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present cost estimates to both technical and non-technical audiences.
