MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with Generation Station experience to work on a 1 year contract, with a high potential of renewal, with one of British Columbia's most well-known utility companies. The Senior Electrical Engineer will contribute their expertise as it relates to the design of electrical utility generation system to complex Generation Electrical Projects across BC. 

The successful candidate must be located in, or willing to relocate at their own cost to, the Vancouver area as they must be able to work a minimum 2 days per week out of the Burnaby office given the role is collaborative with other disciplines. No option for fully remote work and occasional travel may be required with this role to different sites in BC

• Prepare signed/sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record (PoR)
• Provide technical assistance and construction support in the field, and undertake field reviews as required by EGBC.
• Prepare detailed designs and documentation for electrical systems and electrical equipment in generation stations
• Prepare detailed design packages (equipment layouts, single line diagrams, three line diagrams, cable schedules, material lists, external connections, etc.) required to install or modify equipment
• Providing technical review of designs prepared by others following established practices.
• Prepare reports detailing condition assessment investigations of facility equipment and systems, evaluation and analysis of the investigation, and recommendations to address any deficiencies found.
• Provide technical guidance during equipment installation and commissioning.
• Prepare or review/accept inspection test plans for factory acceptance test and site acceptance test
• Prepare commissioning test plans and summary of requirements documentation.
• Perform various engineering calculations: grounding study, arc flash study, short-circuit, cable design, etc.

– P. Eng specializing in Electrical Engineering 
– Class 5 driver's license in good standing
– Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal
– 8+ years of electrical engineering experience with experience working on electrical utility generation systems
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to comply with our client's vaccination policy
