MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager for our client, a well-known homebuilder in Calgary, AB.
Reporting to the VP of Construction, the Senior Human Resources Manager will be responsible for helping implement the HR department within the company, assisting with all things HR strategy, processes, procedures, and more. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in making a large, positive impact within a company.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the HR department from the ground up, including organizational structure, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with the company's short-term and long-term goals
- Develop and administer performance appraisal systems and processes
- Provide guidance and support to managers on performance feedback and improvement plans.
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management, addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that reflects the company values
- Create and manage competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retail top talent
- Regularly benchmark industry standards to ensure competitiveness
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations
- Establish HR policies and procedures that align with company objectives and promote fairness and consistency
- Develop and track key HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives and strategies
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior management
- Lead the recruitment and selection process to attract the best talent in the industry
- Implement creative sourcing strategies to identify and engage potential candidates
- Build a robust onboarding program to integrate new hires seamlessly into the organization
- Design and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, HRCI, CPHR) is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian employment laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in establishing HR departments or functions from scratch.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.
