The Role:
 
On behalf of our client, Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design and Drafting Professional to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including drafting and design, collaborating with others, teaching and checking work, and contributing to the growth of the firm. This position may involve aspects of middle management, with opportunities to lead a team of drafters and oversee projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for delivering high-quality designs.
 
Requirements:
 

• Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in designing and drafting commercial construction mechanical HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems is essential. The candidate should be capable of representing the mechanical discipline in design meetings.

• Software: As a forward-thinking company, our client is looking for someone who is highly proficient with drafting software and can contribute to our ongoing technological growth. Proficiency in both AutoCAD and REVIT drafting software is necessary for this role.
• Leadership and Teaching Skills: The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership qualities, be able to mentor and teach others, and serve as a role model within the organization.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills are crucial to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Team Management: This role will involve leading a team of drafters, and we expect the successful candidate to actively participate in designing projects alongside the team.
• Education: A diploma in mechanical engineering technology or a complementary field such as engineering design and drafting technology or architectural technology is required.

Our client is involved in a diverse range of projects, primarily focusing on commercial and institutional developments. From food court kiosks to new high-rise buildings, Their project pipeline is consistently full, with five or more projects currently in progress.
