MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a permanent role with a client of ours located in Burnaby (Hybrid set-up)

Responsibilities

Test Automation Frameworks and Automated Test Execution

• Design, develop and maintain test automation frameworks.
• Analyze business requirements, use cases and architectural layers to estimate efforts and develop test strategies.
• Develop and maintain well performing automated test scripts using programming or scripting languages.
• Execute automated scripts for functional, regression, performance and load testing.
• Perform manual testing when automated testing is not appropriate or cost effective.
• Ensure optimal automated test coverage to include most common and business critical business flows.
• Trouble shoot and resolve test environment instabilities.
• Investigate and troubleshoot production incidents. 
• Contribute to excellent user experience from an agent or customer perspective.
• Perform business analysis on an as needed basis.

Coordination and Leadership:

• Advocate development practices that support testability, defect prevention and early detection of defects.
• Assess and recommend tools and technologies to optimize and expand automated testing.
• Mentor more junior team members

Must Haves

• Degree in Computer Science
• 7 years of experience, of which:
• 2 to 3 years in application development
• 5+ years solid hands-on experience in designing and developing test automation frameworks
• 1-2 years in a Senior/Lead QA role.
• Technical knowledge: Selenium, JMeter, Java, Javascript or .NET.   Strong SQL hands on experience.
• QA experience in browser based and web-based, Java or .NET applications.
• Working experience in CI/CD and automation tools such as Bamboo and Jenkins.
• Experience in mentoring junior team members in test automation and QA practices.
• In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies.
• Exceptional analytical and trouble shooting skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice to Haves

• Experience in AWS or equivalent Cloud technologies.
• Experience in working with microservices
• Experience with Salesforce, Guidewire or Informatica
