Matchbox Consulting is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Site HSE Coordinator (Construction Safety Officer) to join a growing construction team. With a portfolio of exciting projects underway across the Lower Mainland, this role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of high-profile projects while ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce site safety rules and ensure strict compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and review FLHAs.
- Administer First Aid when necessary and report safety incidents promptly.
- Lead site-specific health and safety orientations for all new site workers and visitors.
- Monitor safety compliance of workers and subcontractors, providing coaching as required.
- Prepare safety plans, conduct hazard assessments, and investigate incidents.
- Proactively identify hazards and implement corrective actions to maintain safety.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer ticket.
- Occupational First Aid Level II (OFA 2) + Transportation Endorsement or Level III (OFA 3) certification (valid).
- Solid knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, policies, and safety standards.
- Experience overseeing health and safety on a construction site.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and basic Adobe.
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain detailed records.
