MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist in Calgary. Our client is a reputable design firm known for their expertise in architecture. They have a track record of creating innovative and sustainable designs for a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, and public spaces. With a focus on client satisfaction and environmental stewardship, they aim to enhance the built environment and create meaningful experiences through their designs.

Responsibilities

• Foster team's comprehensive understanding of project requirements and tailored responses.
• Lead the team in delivering sound and thoughtful designs for each project.
• Attend client meetings, guide junior staff, and oversee research, documentation, and digital file management to maintain office standards and ensure project success.
• Direct training of new staff, conduct redline reviews, and mentor team members to enhance their skills.
• Ensure accurate and relevant 3D renderings, review drawings, coordinate with consultants, and support team members as needed.
• Track time, manage contracts, oversee multiple projects, and uphold high expectations to safeguard the firm's reputation.

Requirements

• A diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Architectural Technology or Degree in Architecture –
• Proficient with; Revit, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Proficient in your understanding of wood frame construction.

• Building Science Concepts: Moisture control, Vapor control, Thermal insulation, local building codes, current NECB and Section 9-36.
• Local land use by-laws and construction regulations.
• construction regulations.  
• Organization, Time, and Information management skills.
• Research and information collection skills.
• Thorough understanding of Building Codes, By-Laws and construction regulations.
• Ability to manage, mentor and lead intermediate and junior staff.
• Sketching and visual communication skills and an understanding of graphic presentation.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Lead by example.
