On behalf of our client, Matchbox Consulting is seeking a Finishing Superintendent. Are you an expert in delivering high-quality, detail-oriented results on residential multi-family construction projects? Do you have extensive experience walking countless miles of floor space in high-rise concrete condo/apartments, low to mid-rise developments, or wood-frame townhouse projects? If so, we’re looking for someone like you!

As an Finishing Superintendent, you'll bring:

  • A deep understanding of the unique challenges and demands of building in the Vancouver area.
  • Energy, pragmatism, and an unwavering focus on getting results, no matter the obstacles.
  • A passion for constantly improving processes, ensuring that jobs are not only completed but done right the first time.
  • A proactive approach to addressing issues—taking immediate action to resolve them.
  • Respect from contractors, suppliers, and teammates for your experience, judgment, and tenacity.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to safety professionals and all site personnel.
  • Supervise and coordinate all interior finishing sub-trades, ensuring processes are followed and schedules are met.
  • Review drawings and submittals for alignment with project specifications, leveraging team expertise when needed.
  • Conduct periodic inspections to ensure work adheres to contract documents and approved submittals.
  • Maintain the project “as-built” drawings and assemble closeout documents, including O&M manuals, as-builts, and warranties.
  • Take immediate action to stop work if safety, quality, or project progress is compromised.
  • Monitor daily site operations for quality compliance, ensuring any issues are resolved according to project protocols.
  • Prepare daily job diaries and ensure site compliance with the Health & Safety Plan.
  • Mentor, coach, and supervise field operations, providing general leadership as required.

Weekly Responsibilities:

  • Participate in weekly look-ahead scheduling meetings.
  • Review and take action on formal and daily safety inspections.
  • Attend and contribute to Project Team meetings.

Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Perform formal safety inspections.
  • Complete and submit all necessary monthly reports.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in multi-family residential concrete or wood-frame construction.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

What We Offer:

  • A team of diverse, authentic, and talented professionals.
  • Unlimited career growth opportunities with mentorship from industry leaders.
  • A Corporate Giving Strategy that supports community development.
  • Annual salary reviews and performance bonuses.
  • A 100% employer-paid Benefit Plan with a Healthcare Spending Account and Employee Assistance Program.
