Requirements

• P.Eng certification (Registered or eligible with Engineers and Geoscientists BC)
• 8+ years of experience in dam engineering and/or monitoring & surveillance of structures
• Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical, Geological, Structural, or Civil Engineering
• Class 5 Driver’s License
• Strong preference for candidates with tailings background, particularly in mining, tailings management, or geotechnical consulting focused on embankment construction/dams
• Located in either Castlegar, Fort St John or Hudson’s Hope, or willing to relocate

Responsibilities

• Monitor dam safety conditions, ensuring performance meets design expectations
• Implement, review, and update surveillance plans based on consequence classifications
• Ensure dam operations meet safety requirements and identify potential risks
• Oversee site inspections, train inspectors, and prepare compliance reports
• Participate in dam safety reviews, deficiency investigations, and capital projects
• Support emergency preparedness plans and regulatory submissions
