Job Title: Project Coordinator

Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the successful execution of residential and commercial construction projects in Vancouver. The Project Coordinator will assist the project management team in planning, organizing, and coordinating construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of construction processes and excellent organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support: Assist Project Managers with the coordination of construction activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and tracking project progress.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, schedules, meeting minutes, and daily reports. Ensure all documents are up to date and properly filed.
- Scheduling: Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules. Monitor project timelines and ensure that milestones are met.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Assist in reviewing subcontractor agreements and scope of work.
- Cost Control: Assist in tracking project budgets, processing invoices, and managing change orders to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Permitting and Inspections: Coordinate and track permits and inspections with local authorities, ensuring all necessary approvals are in place for smooth project progression.
- Procurement: Assist with procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring that project needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Client Communication: Provide regular updates to clients on project progress, addressing any concerns and ensuring clear communication between all parties.
- Health and Safety: Assist in ensuring that all safety protocols are followed on-site, maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute project reports, including daily and weekly updates, to ensure stakeholders are informed of project progress and potential issues.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a project coordination role, preferably in residential and commercial construction.
- Education: A diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Software: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
- Construction Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes for both residential and commercial projects.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address project challenges proactively and efficiently.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with both residential and commercial construction projects in the Vancouver area
- Familiarity with local building codes, permits, and regulations
- Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and green building certifications
