MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Supply Chain Professional to join one of BC’s largest crown corporations.

Location: Burnaby, BC | Hybrid (2 days in office)
Contract Duration: 12 months
Overview: The Supply Chain Professional will be responsible for category work, including developing procurement strategies, RFx events, RFIs, market sounding, facilitating stakeholder meetings, planning priorities and developing analysis and presentations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and plan the implementation of category and/or sourcing strategies or related work packages by leveraging strong skills in communication, analysis, critical thinking, planning/project management, supplier/market research, problem-solving, and facilitation of decision-making within a large and complex organization.
• Implement category and/or sourcing strategies or related work packages using a thorough understanding of sourcing and category management processes and standards, effective project management practices, knowledge of public sector procurement law, and the appropriate application of relevant supply chain concepts.
• Lead and/or support projects that may include developing and conducting multi-stage RFPs, preparing for and conducting negotiations—both initial awards and extensions—as well as implementing supplier relationship management initiatives, including analyzing and resolving escalated contract or supplier issues.
• Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships between the supply chain organization and business partners, suppliers, and stakeholders through activities such as timely communication, issue resolution, and relevant reporting.
• Act as a subject matter expert by advising on category management and/or sourcing best practices, approaches, and standards to enhance current operational efficiency and future capability.

Requirements:
Must haves:

• A minimum ten (10) years of sourcing, category management or equivalent, preferably in a complex environment of a large-scale organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal skills, a positive demeanor, and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• A team player with a self-starter mindset, capable of independently maintaining and strengthening stakeholder relationships.
• Proficient in advanced Excel and PowerPoint, with experience drafting well-structured business briefings that highlight key insights for leadership.
• Initiative-driven, comfortable navigating ambiguity while staying focused and maintaining productive engagement with stakeholders.
• Expertise in building strategic relationships, sourcing work, developing sourcing strategies, and preparing detailed RFPs/RFIs with precision and diligence.

Nice to Haves:

• Operational supply chain experience.
• Familiarity with the BC Bid processes.
• Experience working in large, complex organizations (e.g., Oil & Gas industry).
