Mechanical Surveyor/Layout

On behalf of our client, Matchbox Consulting Group is searching for a Mechanical Surveyor to join their growing team. This company is one of the largest mechanical contractors in the Lower Mainland, with a constant stream of projects in the works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site surveys of mechanical systems, HVAC, piping, and related components.
• Analyze mechanical systems and recommend solutions for optimization, upgrades, or improvements.
• Prepare detailed survey reports, including drawings and diagrams, for client and team review.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure project specifications are met.
• Perform quality checks to ensure mechanical systems are installed correctly and function as intended.
• Identify discrepancies between design plans and actual mechanical installations.
• Provide input into project planning and contribute to the resolution of technical issues on-site.
• Ensure all surveying equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Surveying, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a mechanical surveyor, mechanical engineer, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and industrial systems.
• Familiarity with survey tools, measuring equipment, and industry-specific software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members and clients.
