Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager based in Vancouver, BC for our client, a global construction services company with a strong reputation known for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial construction.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will hold leadership responsibility for the successful execution of major projects and manage a team while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction. Your role will involve overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from preconstruction to closeout.

Responsibilities:

• Lead preconstruction activities including design reviews, tendering, bid leveling, and project launch.
• Review Project Execution and Quality Control (QC) plans with Project Superintendent and finalize team roles.
• Supervise Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and other junior staff, providing mentorship and performance feedback.
• Manage project budget, including reviewing invoices and managing claim submittals.
• Negotiate and manage Change Orders, ensuring alignment with scope, cost, and schedule while resolving conflicts.
• Oversee project closeout activities, including commissioning, final handover, occupancy, training, and financial closeout.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program
• 8+ years of related experience in construction or project management, ideally in commercial or institutional projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and project management software.
• Problem-solving and analytical capabilities with experience in managing large-scale projects and leading teams.
• Familiarity with advanced construction technologies like Building Information Modeling (BIM) and lean construction practices is preferred
• PMP certification is preferred.
