MatchBox Consulting Group is urgently searching for a Construction Safety Specialist for a 12- month contract role (37.5 hours per week) for our BC based public sector client. This is a fully on-site position (5 days per week) located in Kamloops, BC. 

Must Haves

• Extensive knowledge of WorkSafe BC legislation.
• Minimum 4 years of experience on construction sites to identify and ensure safety processes are being met.
• Project coordination and administration capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 particularly Excel and Word.
• Experience creating databases from scratch (Excel, SharePoint).
• Gap analysis on existing safety documentation and procedures.
• Create a safety program action list for Facilities and prioritize it based on criticality.
• Identify training opportunities for Facilities team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate internal construction project documentation (meeting minutes, change orders, project reports, etc.).
• Conduct site safety audits and ensure contractors adhere to safety plans.
• Perform audits on third-party trades to ensure safety compliance.
• Develop and implement third-party contractor onboarding safety programs.
• Create risk assessment documents and maintain contractor onboarding templates.
• Train Facilities staff on safety procedures and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Develop and manage safety ticket and hazardous materials databases.
