MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior Geoscientific Database Manager to join a leading organization in the geoscience sector. This remote, permanent role will be responsible for ensuring the scientific integrity of geoscientific data across a variety of applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in geological data management, including database design, data quality assurance, and data governance.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement geological database systems, focusing on complex geoscientific data types such as drilling, sampling, geophysics, and geochemistry.

• Develop and enforce data governance frameworks and standards to ensure data integrity across the organization.

• Provide expertise in geoscientific data management, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices for metadata, sample data, and geochemical analysis.

• Lead and mentor a team in adopting new technologies and methodologies for managing geological data.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in geological data management, with expertise in mining industry database systems and standards.

• In-depth knowledge of geological database systems such as acQuire GIMS and spatial databases.

• Proven experience implementing data quality management frameworks and data validation for complex datasets.

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Geology, Database Management, or a related field.
