Matchbox Consulting is on the hunt for an Electrical Engineer located in Edmonds, BC working in a hybrid work model (minimum two days in office and may increase based on business requirements).
Responsibilities:
- Design overhead lines and underground cables (60kV–500kV) in an electric utility environment
- Prepare sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record (PoR)
- Perform complex electrical calculations (clearances, grounding, EMTP studies, etc.)
- Provide technical field support and conduct field reviews as required
- Prepare drawings and specifications for systems like surge arresters, disconnect switches, and lightning protection
Must have:
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized institution
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally with exposure to utility or transmission projects
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (required for occasional site visits and field reviews)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in technical writing and reporting
Asset:
- Previous utility experience.
- Experience with telecom and/or protection and control project.
- Experience with transmission lines projects.
- Able to understand the interactions and priorities required to deliver multi-discipline projects.
