MatchBox Consulting is searching for a Construction Safety Officer for one of Western Canada’s largest and reputable developer-builders. Our client is extremely well-known for their commitment to quality and have been building multiple large residential and industrial projects 70 years. 

Key Responsibilities

• Enforcing safety protocols across all project phases.
• Cultivating a safety-oriented environment on-site.
• Crafting site-specific safety plans and executing hazard assessments.
• Ensuring timely incident reporting.
• Conducting regular site inspections and implementing corrective actions.
• Monitoring safety compliance of laborers and subcontractors.
• Facilitating safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Maintaining comprehensive documentation and generating reports.
• Providing first aid support as necessary.
• Assisting with miscellaneous tasks as required.

Education and Experience

• Certified Construction Safety Officer designation
• Minimum of 2 years Health and Safety experience
• Occupational First Aid Level II (OFA 2)
• Good knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations, policies, guidelines and standards
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to commute to multiple sites across the Metro Vancouver Area.
