Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Property Accountant to join a well-established developer-builder with a diverse commercial and industrial real estate portfolio. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to take ownership of property-level financials and work closely with internal teams in a collaborative environment.

You’ll be responsible for full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of income properties, including monthly reporting, budgeting, and operating cost reconciliations. The role is hands-on and well-suited for someone who enjoys both the technical and interpersonal sides of accounting, with regular interaction across property management, leasing, and finance teams.

Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounting and monthly reporting for a portfolio of income properties
• Prepare annual budgets, variance reports, and tenant operating cost reconciliations
• Coordinate tenant chargebacks, fixed asset entries, and rent roll reviews
• Track intercompany transactions, working capital, and investor distributions
• Support treasury and financing processes as needed
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and support internal controls and process improvements
• Assist with ad hoc projects and year-end reporting

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of full-cycle accounting experience in a real estate or property management environment
• CPA designation or actively pursuing
• Strong knowledge of Yardi and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with budgeting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines and shifting priorities
