We are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to lead the execution of field-based maintenance programs related to high-voltage transmission infrastructure. This 12-month contract role involves managing multiple complex projects, ensuring field safety, coordinating with stakeholders, overseeing vendors, and contributing to the development of new operational initiatives.
Location: Burnaby BC (Flexible)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of maintenance programs including fire risk mitigation, inspections, repairs, and pilot programs
- Manage materials, budgets, and crews to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-schedule execution
- Promote and enforce safety standards through regular field engagement and Safe Work Observations
- Identify and mitigate risks across environmental, safety, reputational, and stakeholder domains
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and Indigenous/community partners
- Conduct field audits, prepare reports, and recommend continuous improvements
- Coordinate logistics for field-based work, including access by helicopter, boat, or on foot in rugged terrain
Requirements:
- Minimum 9 years of construction management experience (ideally in large-scale or remote settings)
- Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical), Business, or relevant trades certification
- Expertise in construction methods, contract management, and worksite safety
- Proven experience in program development, vendor oversight, and field reporting
- Physically capable of working in outdoor, rugged, and remote environments
- Clean driving record and ability to travel extensively across the province
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Assets (Nice-to-Haves):
- Experience managing infrastructure, utility, or T&D maintenance projects
- Familiarity with WorkSafe BC, OSH regulations, and other safety standards
- Previous work in remote environments or under challenging field conditions
- Experience collaborating with Indigenous communities or working in regulated public environments
Additional Notes:
- Candidates must be open to required safety training (e.g., helicopter transport certification)
- This role requires a high level of field readiness and adaptability
