Finishing Super – Squamish

On behalf of our client, Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Finishing Superintendent for a major residential development in Squamish. Our client is a large general contractor with projects mainly on the North Shore.

Who You Are:

You are an experienced superintendent with a strong background in residential construction, specifically with the occupancy phase of a project. Your commitment to job site safety, project quality, and teamwork is evident through your recent and extensive experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate interior and exterior finishing activities (drywall, painting, flooring, cabinetry, millwork, fixtures, etc.).
• Ensure work meets project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Ensure the safety of all construction site personnel.
• Maintain established site processes and uphold the required quality standards.
• Work towards the on-schedule completion of projects.
• Manage field activities to meet Client expectations.
• Provide expertise, guidance, and supervision for field operations.

Daily Duties:

• Supervise and coordinate sub-trades and contractors.
• Review drawings and submittals.
• Conduct site inspections for efficient, coordinated, and cost-effective project execution.
• Complete Daily Logs and report to the Site Superintendent.
• Monitor site progress and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
• Motivate all field forces, including sub-trades, to complete work safely, on-time, and to an acceptable quality standard.
• Assist the Project Team with closeout documents, including manuals, as-builts, and warranties.
• Attend site meetings and provide input for sub-trades and contractors.
• Resolve site problems and conflicts professionally.
• Maintain good working relationships with the Team, Client, consultants, sub-trades, and regulatory authorities.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of construction experience with a Construction Manager or General Contractor.
• Proven experience with residential development; concrete experience is an asset.
• Ability to interpret construction documents, including contracts and schedules.
• Strong commitment to job site safety and project quality.
• Ability to connect with sub-trades and lead by establishing trust.
• Excellent understanding of construction techniques and materials.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Lower Mainland and BC construction industry.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in computer skills and various construction-related software.
