We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer with a focus on electrical and instrumentation design for natural gas utility systems. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, ensure compliance with industry standards, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems for natural gas facilities.
• Apply engineering principles to ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and other industry standards.
• Perform detailed design and analysis of low voltage electrical systems (below 600VAC).
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Conduct field inspections and work closely with operations teams to ensure system functionality and safety.
• Develop and review technical documents, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic.
• Provide expertise in telemetry/SCADA control system programming as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC).
• 7-10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation design, specifically for oil/gas utility systems.
• Extensive knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on projects for a major utility or energy provider.
• Field experience working closely with operations teams.
• Experience with telemetry/SCADA control system programming.
