MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Product Owner for a permanent position with a client of ours located in Vancouver. This is an on-site position 3 days per week (two days remote) in the companies Mount Pleasant based office.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Create and manage product backlogs and user stories
• Define the QA process and establish clear expectations for what “done” means
• Manage developer task allocation and ensure clarity of deliverables
• Facilitate the estimation process and support the documenting detailed specifications for product requirements
• Contribute to the development and prioritization of the product roadmap
• Ensure effective workload distribution across the product team
• Work collaboratively with the Solution Architect, the sales director and developers
• Represent business priorities in product planning and execution
• Report directly to the Strategy Officer

Qualifications
 

• 6–10 years of product management experience, ideally gained in nimble, fast-paced environments such as agencies, consultancies, or boutique product teams
• Proven ability to write clear user stories and manage product backlogs
• Strong project management skills, with experience guiding cross-functional teams
• Experience working in Agile environments; Scrum Master certification or experience is a plus
• Comfortable working with technical teams and translating business needs into features
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Familiarity with payment processing systems or fintech platforms (preferred)
• Must be available to work from our Vancouver office (Mount Pleasant)

Education & Certifications
 

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, IT Management, Computer Science, or a related field
• Product Management certification (e.g., CSPO, Professional Product Manager) is a plus
• Experience in Agile deployment and/or holding a Scrum Master certification is a strong asset
