Controller – Civil Construction
Location: Chilliwack, BC
Comp: $105,000 – $135,000 + Full Benefits + RRSP Matching

This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity with a high-performing construction company known for doing things the right way—clean, strategic, and built to last. With the current Controller moving into a new internal role, the CFO is looking for a sharp, hands-on operator to take ownership of the accounting function and help modernize the financial infrastructure as the business continues to scale.

If you’ve got a construction background (civil or general contracting preferred), solid ERP experience, and the confidence to lead without micromanaging, this is a role where you’ll be trusted, supported, and challenged.

What You’ll Own:

• Oversee all core accounting functions: GL, AP/AR, payroll support, fixed assets, and audit prep

• Lead month-end and year-end close with accurate, actionable reporting

• Own regulatory compliance (WCB, CRA, etc.) and audit readiness

• Develop and refine project cost tracking and variance reporting

• Support cash flow forecasting and overhead cost analysis

• Implement and maintain PO processes and internal controls

• Act as ERP power user (Acumatica preferred, others welcome)

• Directly manage and mentor a small accounting team

• Report directly to the CFO and work closely with executive leadership

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in construction

• Industry exposure: civil, general contracting, or construction-adjacent (not retail)

• CPA designation (or in progress)

• Hands-on experience with mid-market ERP systems

• Proven leadership capability—can both execute and elevate others

Work Environment:
This is a 100% in-office position based in Chilliwack. While the company supports flexibility in your day-to-day, hybrid or remote is not an option.
