Operations Site Superintendent

On behalf of our client, MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a hands-on, safety-driven Operations Site Superintendent to oversee daily site operations across one of our critical locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in waterfront, mining, or rail sectors, with a proven track record of leading teams, ensuring operational excellence, and upholding the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily site operations, ensuring productivity, safety, and compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.

• Supervise and coordinate activities of operational staff, subcontractors, and vendors.

• Develop and implement site-specific operational procedures, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

• Maintain and improve site infrastructure, equipment, and assets.

• Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to drive efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.

• Enforce a strong safety culture through training, audits, and consistent communication.

• Liaise with senior management, engineering, logistics, and other stakeholders to meet project timelines and objectives.

• Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

• University or Technical School graduate, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience in material bulk loading/unloading in a waterfront, mining, rail or similar operation.
• Experience or personality/ability to work with union workers

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Operations Management, or related technical field.
  Certifications in safety or site supervision (e.g., OSHA, CSO, First Aid)
