Our client, a leading Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager specializing in Transportation Infrastructure to join their dynamic team.
Role Overview:
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading and managing multidisciplinary civil engineering projects with a focus on transportation infrastructure. This includes serving as Design Manager, Technical Lead, and/or Engineer of Record on complex projects. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to define project scope, establish and maintain schedules and budgets, and ensure successful project delivery while maintaining contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership and Client Management: Lead multidisciplinary teams in the execution of civil projects, acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients. Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets effectively to meet client expectations and contractual obligations.
- Technical Execution and Coordination: Participate in or lead the technical delivery of transportation infrastructure projects across all phases including Functional Planning, Preliminary Design, Detailed Design, and Construction Administration. Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
- Quality and Compliance: Oversee preparation, review, and presentation of engineering work products and deliverables to clients, ensuring adherence to industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Contract and Risk Management: Monitor project completion and contract compliance, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Extensive Industry Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in roads and highways design, with at least 5 years serving as a design lead, deputy project manager, or project manager on complex transportation infrastructure projects
- Professional Credentials: Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) is required. Certification in project management such as CAPM or PMP is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in office productivity tools, project accounting systems, project management software, and personnel management platforms. Working knowledge of CAD and Civil 3D software is essential for effective project coordination
- Design Standards Knowledge: Thorough working knowledge of applicable design standards including the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Geometric Design Guidelines, the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) Supplement to TAC, and other relevant provincial and national design standards.
- Soft Skills and Adaptability:??????? Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple concurrent projects efficiently. Proven leadership in team management and delegation. Flexibility and willingness to travel for short-term assignments across Canada as required.
