Position Overview
A leading Lower Mainland construction firm is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to oversee multi-family wood-frame residential projects in the Richmond area. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing construction projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring that deliverables align with client expectations, budget parameters, and schedule milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of multi-family residential construction projects, from pre-construction planning and budgeting through to project turnover.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, ensuring timely and efficient project execution.
- Prepare and track budgets, cost forecasts, change orders, and project documentation.
- Conduct site visits and manage construction progress, quality control, and compliance with building codes and safety standards.
- Lead regular project meetings and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and resolve issues as they arise to keep projects on track.
- Mentor and support site teams to foster collaboration and high performance.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in project management within the wood-frame multi-family residential construction sector.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, BC Building Code, municipal permitting processes, and safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects from start to finish.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
