Building Envelope Superintendent

On behalf of our client, MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Building Envelope Superintendent to oversee all field operations related to building envelope systems on a residential project on the North Shore. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of various envelope systems, including roofing, waterproofing, cladding, air/vapor barriers, windows, and curtain walls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily on-site activities related to the building envelope scope.

• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to ensure timely and quality execution.

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings.

• Ensure compliance with project plans, schedules, and safety standards.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and consultants to resolve field issues.

• Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure installation meets technical standards.

• Maintain accurate site records, reports, and progress documentation.

• Enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and company standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in building envelope systems supervision or a related construction leadership role.

• Extensive knowledge of envelope systems, including but not limited to:

  • Air and vapor barrier systems

  • Exterior cladding (metal panels, EIFS, masonry, etc.)

  • Roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, SBS, etc.)

  • Waterproofing techniques

  • Curtain walls and glazing systems

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.

• Proficiency with construction management software is a plus (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid).

• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
