A growing transportation engineering team in Edmonton is looking to add a Transportation Planning Designer to support an expanding portfolio of urban and rural infrastructure projects across Western Canada. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse, meaningful work alongside a collaborative and multidisciplinary team. The position is based in Edmonton with a flexible hybrid arrangement (3 days/week in office).

Why This Role Exists:

With a rapidly growing project pipeline, the team is seeking an experienced designer to enhance design capacity and take on more complex transportation projects. The ideal candidate is consultative, technically strong, and well-versed in civil design software.
 

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and complete conceptual and functional design plans for transportation infrastructure projects
• Create 3D corridor models using Civil 3D and AutoCAD
• Apply municipal and provincial design standards, including those of the City of Edmonton and Alberta Transportation
• Prepare high-quality design and drafting deliverables while meeting project schedules and budgets
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, planners, and subconsultants
• Contribute to the proposal, planning, and design phases of a variety of projects
• Participate in design meetings, quality assurance processes, and peer reviews
• Provide traffic engineering and road safety input to support project goals

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field

• Registered or eligible for registration as P.Eng, CET, P.Tech, P.L.Eng, or A.Tech
• Proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment
• Ability to work independently and manage technical design tasks across multiple projects
• Strong communication and client interaction skills

Nice-to-Haves:

• Familiarity with City of Edmonton design standards
• Experience with roundabouts, interchanges, or urban streetscape projects
• Demonstrated ability to build 3D corridor models in Civil 3D
