MatchBox Consulting is on the hunt for a construction technologist to work out of Mica, BC. The Construction Technologist provides project controls support and helps build and administer the program for large-scale construction and maintenance projects. The role involves planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating field activities to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, including coordination of multiple projects and maintenance outages
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and budget forecasts.
- Review project schedules for compliance and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate site logistics such as laydown areas and staging drawings.
- Assist Construction Managers with work package management and track construction progress.
- Manage shared services budgets, including estimating and actual cost tracking.
- Lead technology initiatives to improve project efficiency and reporting.
- Provide technical advice and coordinate with field crews and contractors.
- Support contract preparation and procurement activities.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in construction-related field (Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Trades, etc.)
- Minimum five years’ experience in construction or project management.
- Proficient with scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of construction standards, codes, and best practices across Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
