MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Level 1 Helpdesk Support Technician for a 37.5 hour per week contract position starting on September 15 through December 31, 2025 with a client of ours located in Victoria. This position is 5 days per week on-site in Victoria.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for end users via phone, email, and in-person.
• Troubleshoot and resolve common hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
• Log and manage incidents and service requests using a ticketing system.
• Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when appropriate.
• Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of workstations and other IT equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of support issues and solutions.
• Support IT asset tracking and inventory management.
• Follow all site-specific security protocols and IT policies.

Requirements

• Completion of a diploma or certificate program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding of Windows OS (Windows 10/11), Microsoft Office 365, and standard office IT equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC (Restricted Area Identity Card) through Transport Canada (includes background check).
• Must be able to work on-site every scheduled workday.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in a helpdesk or desktop support role.
• Familiarity with IT ticketing systems.
• A+ Certification or similar entry-level IT credential.
