Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Data Analytics Specialist to provide short-term support for asset management programs through data entry, cleaning, analysis, and reporting. This role will also assist with tool development, testing, field data collection, and training support. The successful candidate will help ensure the accuracy, quality, and usability of critical data sets used to drive operational decision-making.

Location: Burnaby, BC (Hybrid – combination of office and work from home; some travel across BC may be required)
Duration: 6 months

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform data entry, validation, and cleaning to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Conduct data analysis using Excel, Power Pivot, and other tools to support asset management programs.
• Support the development and testing of data collection and reporting tools.
• Generate clear and actionable reports for internal stakeholders.
• Assist with training initiatives and participate in occasional field data collection activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis or a related role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Advanced expertise in Excel, Power Pivot, and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain clean and accurate data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Working knowledge of Power BI and ESRI tools.
• Experience supporting asset management or utility-related programs.
• Familiarity with building datasets from technical documentation (e.g., completion reports, drawings, O&M manuals).
