Matchbox Consulting Group is partnering with an award-winning developer and general contracting group to find a Preconstruction Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team that delivers innovative multi-family, wood-frame and high-rise projects across BC. The ideal candidate brings strong estimating experience, a keen eye for cost and constructability, and the ability to support early project planning and presentations that set projects up for success.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for multi-family, wood-frame, and high-rise developments from concept through tender.

• Collaborate with design, development, and construction teams to identify cost-saving strategies and value engineering opportunities.

• Coordinate and present preconstruction packages, schedules, and reports to internal and external stakeholders.

• Manage tendering and procurement processes including trade/vendor outreach and bid analysis.

• Support project risk assessments, feasibility studies, and design development meetings.

• Maintain accurate documentation of drawings, addenda, and change orders through the preconstruction phase.

• Assist in transitioning projects from preconstruction to construction, ensuring a smooth handoff.
   

Requirements

• 2–3 years of estimating or preconstruction experience within the construction or development sector.

• Strong estimating background with proven ability to prepare conceptual and detailed estimates.

• Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.

• Excellent presentation and communication skills for preconstruction meetings and client updates.

• Proficiency with estimating and construction software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, or similar).

• Wood-frame and/or high-rise residential experience is a strong asset.

• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, or a related field preferred.
