Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager for our client, a leading electrical utility. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of medium to high-risk and highly complex infrastructure or construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and with quality. This role requires leadership of cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams and the ability to manage significant project documentation, risk planning, and stakeholder coordination.

Location: Burnaby, BC

Responsibilities:

• Lead medium to high-risk and highly complex infrastructure or construction projects through the full lifecycle.
• Plan, direct, and report on project activities by monitoring benefits, resources, and project status.
• Develop project documentation including project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.
• Develop project and risk management plans for projects up to $50 million in capital cost.
• Manage multiple disciplines including:
• quality assurance
• engineering
• First Nations and stakeholder engagement
• communications
• regulatory approvals
• procurement
• planning and controls
• construction management
• pre-commissioning
• employee relations
• safety
• Perform project scoping, planning, management, monitoring, and reporting using advanced Microsoft Office and project management programs.
• Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, including customers, engineers, and field crews.
• Establish project implementation and monitoring standards using strong analytical skills and knowledge of project-management practices.

Must Haves:

• PMP designation (required).
• 5+ years of program/project management experience (supplier requirement).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or engineering background (required per supplier comments).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Advanced English skills (written and spoken) for a professional environment.

Nice to Haves:

• P.Eng (strongly preferred).
• MBA.
• SAP knowledge or experience.
• Understanding of construction contracts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (asset noted in role profile).
• PMP preferred (already required in this case).
