Due to sustained growth and a rapidly expanding portfolio, they are seeking an experienced Development Manager to join their high-performing team.
You will work alongside a senior Development Manager known for exceptional execution, deep municipal experience, and a collaborative leadership style—offering both mentorship and a strong peer partnership as you take on substantial project responsibility.
About the Role
This is a full-spectrum Development Manager position overseeing multi-family residential projects from acquisition and early planning through permitting, construction, and occupancy. You will manage day-to-day development activities, coordinate consultants and municipal processes, and ensure project targets are achieved across design, financial performance, schedule, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Lead assigned development projects from due diligence and concept planning through to completion and occupancy.

Manage and coordinate external consultants, including architects, engineers, planners, and cost consultants.

Prepare, manage, and monitor development budgets, pro formas, cashflows, and critical path schedules.

Oversee municipal approvals including rezoning, DP, BP, subdivision, and related processes.

Support the construction interface: RFIs, change management, drawing coordination, design clarifications.

Collaborate closely with internal construction, finance, and ownership teams to ensure alignment and project continuity.

Support lender/investor reporting, presentations, and internal approval workflows.

Liaise with municipal staff, community stakeholders, and project partners.

Identify project risks and opportunities, proposing mitigation or optimization strategies.

Manage consultant contracts, including CCDC and standard form agreements.
Qualifications
-
3–7+ years of hands-on Development Manager experience (multi-family or mixed-use preferred).

Strong understanding of municipal planning, entitlement processes, building codes, and construction fundamentals.

Experience leading design consultants and overseeing drawing coordination.

Proficiency in Excel, development budgeting, and financial modeling.

Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to manage several concurrent, fast-moving projects.

Post-secondary education in real estate, planning, engineering, business, or a related field.
