MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Structural Technologist/Designer for a growing municipal infrastructure team in Calgary.

Our client is a well-established, employee-owned Canadian engineering firm focused on designing vibrant, resilient communities. They work across public and private sectors nationwide and are recognized for technical excellence, sustainable practices, and employee development.

This role is based in Calgary with a hybrid schedule—two days in the office per week after an initial three-month full-time in-office period. Relocation support may be available on a case-by-case basis.

About the Role

The Structural Technologist/Designer will collaborate closely with Engineers, Designers, and other Technologists to create and develop 2D and 3D designs. The work spans municipal water infrastructure projects, including water supply, treatment plants, reservoirs, lift stations, pumping stations, and associated civil infrastructure, with opportunities to cross into other discipline areas.

You will also be responsible for reviewing drawing packages, supporting design development, coordinating with multidiscipline teams, maintaining project documentation, providing input on design details, and occasionally taking the CAD Design Lead on projects.

Who You Are

You are a detail-oriented, self-motivated professional with a minimum of three years’ experience in municipal infrastructure. You bring strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and excellent communication and organizational skills. You work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and you are driven to deliver high-quality designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineers and Designers to develop 2D and 3D designs

• Review and manage drawing packages

• Support design development and provide input on design details

• Coordinate and communicate with multidiscipline Technologists

• Maintain project documentation frameworks

• Serve as CAD Design Lead on projects as needed

Experience & Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology

• Minimum of 3 years’ municipal infrastructure experience

• Proficiency in Revit for Structures, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office tools

• Familiarity with Navisworks, Revizto, SketchUp, and BIM knowledge is an asset

• Understanding of National and Provincial Building Codes is an asset

• Experience in construction inspection is an asset

• Registration with ASET is considered an asset
